So many people ask “why does a baby need chiropractic care?”. Well, when you think that birth is potentially the most traumatic experience we all go through, and that babies are in a cramped environment for so long, it just makes sense that things might not be properly aligned when they are born. Adjustments can help with a variety of things, including torticollis, colic, reflux, gas, sleep issues, nursing and latching issues, and that’s just to name a few. If your baby is born holding their own head up, it’s not because they’re “strong”. Its because their muscles are in spasm. If he or she is tight and rigid, and won’t lie in your arms or on your shoulder in a relaxed C-shape, with relaxed legs, arms and hands, there is muscle spasm creating misalignment.
As your child gets older and begins to sit up, crawl, and walk, having a properly aligned spine can help with their balance, coordination, and confidence to get to those milestones. If they seem late in reaching them, it can help your child get there.
Some other things chiropractic care can help with are ear infections, sensory issues, bed wetting, scoliosis, asthma and allergies, sleep issues, hyperactivity, and sports injuries.
